Next tour departs: April 2022 - Exciting new additions to the tour.

Perth: 3 Nights

Starting our West Australian adventure in the far west of the country we spend our first 3 nights in Fremantle, just 25 minutes south of Perth. It’s a port city, with many of its heritage buildings built from local limestone, making it very attractive to its visitors and locals alike. We will be travelling from here to Rottnest Island with time to swim and tour the island. Keep your eyes open for Quokka’s, the local macropod.

Margaret River: 4 Nights

The next day we head to Margaret River, stopping at Mandurah on the way south for a visit to Yalgorup National park with time to take a walk in the Wetlands. Once we are in Margaret River we will spend a half day on the Canoe tour including instructions prior to canoeing on the Margaret River, stopping for lunch with local delicacies and a guided tour of the caves before heading back to town. We will also be taking a tour with Dunsborough based Indigenous tourism award winners Koomal dreaming.

Walpole: 1 Night

Walpole is a small town famous for its Tingle and Karri trees in the an area often referred to as the Valley of the Giants. For me it’s Australia’s answer to Big Sur in California except the trees are a different species. It is also situated on the Nornalup Inlet so great coastal views as well. We will be taking a wilderness tour here and stay the night. After a good nights rest we will head out of town, stopping for those who wish to do so to the Tree Top Walk in the Valley of the Giants along with a number of other local natural attractions. Bring costumes for one of them!

Denmark: 2 Nights

I choose to stay in Denmark as it has a river location, a heritage trail and some local wineries which are gaining a fine reputation. Supporting regional Australia is a principle of Wandering Women and we do try and stay in some smaller locations in on each tour. Based in Denmark, we will explore Albany from here, with its history of whaling, the natural attractions of Torndirrup National Park, spectacular white sand beaches and local fresh seafood for those who enjoy it. This gives you a look at the best of the southern WA region.

Perth: 1 Night

Then we head back to Perth for the night with a trip to Kings Park, overlooking the city and the Swan River that flows through its centre. Next day we catch a plane to Broome, a seaside town some 2240 kilometres north of Perth (yes, Australia IS a big country).

Broome: 4 Nights

Based here for the next 4 nights, we visit Cable Beach with its extraordinary tide variations as well as its fantastic sunsets over the Indian Ocean with a camel ride the length of Cable Beach. We spend a very full day visiting Windjammer Gorge, cruising on the Fitzroy River and listening to its historical significance to the traditional owners from a traditional guide. A lighter day’s activities follows with a visit to Willie Creek Pearl Farms and kayak with turtles. Our new addition to the tour is a second flight! This time to the Horizontal Falls - called the "8th wonder of the world" by Sir David Attenborough - and over the stunning Buccaneer Archipelago. Experience the Falls by boat and lunch in a remote area that is so scenic it will take your breath away.
